F-Cross Zone Pass 3-Step Passing Game Rules The 3-step drop game in the Fly offense is the easiest way to throw the football. High percentage play because even when the route is covered we will roll away from the wide receiver to a three-tier route on the backside. With our three step drop game the quarterback will read the perimeter defense that is defending the wide receiver and decide whether to throw the called route or boot away.
